yainix ridge, winema national forest, oregon -- this scene was photgraphed on the morning of our first overnight snowfall. while wandering the roads locally i spotted this new little tree standing in a small clearing under the spotlight of the sun shinning only on it. the contradiction of the new growth right along side the stump of an evidently mature tree itself once a new growth, is what spoke to me and caught my creative eye.
